SCHEMES UNDER DISTRICT INDUSTRIES & COMMERCE CENTRE
DIBRUGARH, ASSAM.
Assam aptly described as the SHANGRI-LA in North
East India. With a view to utilizing, exploiting the bounteous resources for
Industrial development, the Industries & Commerce deptt. has been catering
to the fulfillment of the objectives with a special emphasis on S.S.I . S.S.I.
plays vital role in the economic upliftment. As per decision of the Govt. Of
India the District Industries Centres were started in a phased manner wef. 1st
May, 1978 throughout the Country.Today these centers are known as District
Industries & Commerce Centres. The DICC Dibrugarh too started functioning
from 1978 . To ensure establishment of Industrial units (SSI/TINY/SSSBE/HANDICRAFT
UNITS), to create atmosphere for Industrialization and also to ensure self
emplopyment the DIC, Dibrugarh is imp;ementing various schemes: These are:-
a) Industrial Training/Study tour/Awareness
campaign.
b) Industrial loan up to Rs. 25,000/-
c) Supply of Improved tools
upto Rs. 1500/-
d) Handecraft Development schemes.
e) Industrial Exhibition.
f)
Seed/Margin money scheme to SSI/TINY units.
g) Industrial estate/Commercial
Estate scheme.
h) Supply of machinery to units under Hire purchase scheme.
i)
Industrial policy of Govt. of Assam,1997(Provision of incentives etc. to
encourage SSI units). j) North-East Industrial policy of Govt. of India, 1997
(Provision of Subsidy etc. to encourage growth of SSI/Medium/Large sector units
in NE States)
k) Financial Assistance schemes from NEC,Shillong.
l) Prime
Minister's Rozgar Yojna (PMRY) for educated unemployed youth. m) 50% Transport
Subsidy.
n) KVIC-Margin money scheme for artisans.
