UTILITY OF THE SCHEMES IMPLEMENTED BY DISTRICT RURAL  DEVELOPMENT AGENCY, DIBRUGARH, UNDER J.R.Y. /J.G.S.Y./ I.R.D.P.  /    S.G.S.Y./ E.A.S.ETC.

The District Rural Development Agency, Dibrugarh has been implementing some important infrastructure for economic and social development in the rural areas under various programmes, like construction of Rural Roads, Community Halls , School Buildings, Public Pandals, Rural Market Sheds, Ring Bundhs ,Green House Schemes, Piggery Farms, Horticulture-Cum-Tea-Nursery, Sericulture Schemes, Cultural Bhawan etc.

Several school buildings have been constructed in this district under various programmes, which has enabled the rural poor to take advantage of education.

JAWAHAR ROJGAR YOJANA ( JAWAHAR GRAM SAMRIDHI  YOJANA )

             The utility of the schemes implemented under JRYand  JGSY viz- rural market sheds , Ring bundh ,Park, Piggery farm etc are to strengthen village infrastructure and to create durable assets at the villages to increase the opportunities for sustained employment besides generation of supplementary employment for the unemployed poor in the rural areas particularly below poverty line families. Rural market sheds were constructed for selling rural products at the nearest place of produce, by the rural poor.

INTEGRATED RURAL  DEVELOPMENT  PROGRAMME,

SWARNJAYANTI  GRAM  SWAROJGAR  YOJANA

              IRDP/SGSY is a credit cum subsidy programme. It covers all aspects of self employment. The infrastructure programme taken under three Development Blocks, as shown in the list will be of great help for the rural poor. The swarojgaries and SHGs will be able to increase their income, and cross above the poverty line .

EMPLOYMENT ASSURANCE  SCHEMES

             The scheme implemented under EAS has provided wage employment in unskilled  manual works to the rural poor who are in need of employment. Some of the schemes are implemented to create economic infrastructure and community assets.  Development and construction of rural roads gives the rural poor transportation facilities for easy movement from one village to another village. Raised Plate form helps the flood affected rural poor during rainy season for shelter. It also helps  them to keep their  live  stocks during  the days  of  flood.

              Auditorium Halls , Community Halls, etc. give the rural poor the opportunities to get together to discuss some common objective/ problems etc. It also provides for display of cultural activities to the rural poor. Ring bundhs  protects the low lying flood affected areas from floods. Considering the potentiality of the sericulture, in the district,  few sericulture schemes have also been implemented with the help of Line deptt. to facilite the rearers  of the BPL families.

GREEN  HOUSE  SCHEME  

             To raise off-season vegetables  in the rural areas by the BPL families. A good number of green houses have been  constructed and it gives reasonable profit to the beneficiaries.

            A few number of fishery schemes, and construction of channels for irrigation purposes, have also been implemented in this district with good out-come.
